A team from the Uganda Toursim Board – UTB, led by CEO Lilly Ajarova, on Tuesday made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nabanjja Robinah to discuss issues around the tourism sector.

The CEO shared updates on the current state of the tourism industry and emphasized the need for more support in implementing the UTB mandate. Among the initiatives discussed included domestic tourism.

The PM was happy with the idea of more Ugandans exploring and getting to know their country. She was happy with involvement of the young people in tourism and pledged to support UTB in implementation of its mandate.

She noted that the tourism sector can potentially create lots of jobs for many unemployed youth along the entire value chain and therefore the sector deserves a strong government support.
