President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has lauded the Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah, the Prime Minister of Uganda for her unwavering commitment to effectively serve the public.

Museveni told the mammoth gathering  at Mpasaana Seed Secondary School grounds,  where a Thanksgiving ceremony was held, that he appointed Rt. Hon. Nabbanja because of her commitment and proper methods of work.

“The reason why some people fail is because they don’t have the correct work methods. If you don’t know how to vet your working methods, you find that even the smallest mistake, makes you fail,” he said.

“The NRA/M together with the army, we had the time to perfect both the mission and work methods and always to have collective decision making,” noted Museveni.

The President reminded the people about five key issues that can cause socio-economic transformation of the country.

“Peace, Development, Wealth which produces jobs and then Services which can be extended by government but also the private individuals,” noted the President.

Museveni made the remarks during a thanksgiving ceremony of Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime of Uganda at Mpasaana Seed Secondary School grounds in Kakumiro District.

The President reiterated his deep-rooted message on the importance of adopting commercial agriculture through the Four Acre Model, a strategy he continues to champion for households with access to small land holdings.

“You can change the situation of your lives by involving yourself in agriculture and dairy. This is what I have all along been telling you, especially those who have up to four acres of land. You can use them following the four-acre model and the rest will copy,” he noted.

The Head of State assured the people of Bunyoro and Uganda in general of security, saying that with the professionalism of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), no detractor can dare try to disrupt the peace in Uganda.

“There will be no war here because the UPDF is able to crush anybody who tries to bring war but also peace has brought in law and order,” he said.

On arrival in Kakumiro, the President was received by Nabbanja and Local leaders before making a tour of the Kakumiro Model Training and Skilling Agricultural Innovations Farm, a facility setup by the Prime Minister to promote commercial agriculture.

The President commissioned the farm before a guided tour, where he inspected the coffee nursery bed greenhouse, coffee and Banana plantations, the cattle section, poultry among others.

He later commissioned Hotel Classic Kakumiro, owned by Nabbanja as one way of promoting local tourism and local economic development.

The President also proceeded to the Prime Minister’s country home before he addressed a public rally at Mpasaana Seed Secondary School.

In her remarks Rt. Hon. Nabbanja thanked President Museveni for entrusting her with the Office of the Prime Minister and also presiding over her thanksgiving function.

Nabbanja told the President that when he appointed her to the position of Prime Minister in 2021, the whole of Bunyoro sub region jubilated and rejoiced.  “Your Excellency, I want to thank you on behalf of the people of Bunyoro for appointing me as the first ever Female Prime Minister in Uganda,” she said.

Nabbanja briefed the President on her political journey right from 1998 when she was elected as a District Councilor.

“Your Excellency, In 2001, you appointed me as Deputy RDC for Pallisa, you later elevated me to full RDC. In 2011 I was elected as MP and since then I have never looked back. And all this is because of you. Your Excellency the President, you are my hero. I can say that all that I have is because of you,” said Nabbanja.

She also expressed gratitude to President Museveni for creating Kakumiro District out of Kibaale District, an attribute that has enhanced service delivery in the area.

The Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi commended President Museveni for the development projects in Kakumiro and Bunyoro region as a whole.

He also requested the people of Bunyoro to continue supporting President Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government for more development.

Several Ministers led by the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Moses Ali graced the function that was characterized by entertainment from local and national artists.

The event was attended by Members of Parliament, among other dignitaries.
