NAMANVE

The UPDF Engineering Brigade that was contracted to renovate the OPM stores located in Namanve has made significant progress on the perimeter wall after casting all columns.

During the weekly inspection made by a team from OPM led by Mr. Robert Lwasa, the Principal Systems Administrator (PSA) who was accompanied by the Principal Assistant Secretary (PAS) Ms. Susan Akum yesterday, the team was impressed by the progress of the works witnessed at the site since the previous visit, a week ago. During the previous inspection visit, the Brigade was preparing the columns with metal works to ready them for casting.

The Inspection team was received at the site by the 2nd Lt. Chrispus Turyasingura who explained that progress works had been slowed down by the recent weather conditions as they could not cast while it was raining. Tow thirds of the wall columns had been cast and he was hopeful that the other columns would be done within the week before more brick works are done to make the height of the wall reach 2.4m as planned.

The team noted a grill that has been fitted on a section of the wall which Maj. Eng. George Ogwang, the Operations Officer and Project Manager explained that it was a sample of what would be installed on the front side of the perimeter wall.
