The Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Mr. Kakooza Alex has commended the Staff for exhibiting high levels of performance and commitment towards work in 2025.He noted that the tremendous service rendered by the Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister did not only enhance service delivery in the country but also highlighted institutional professionalism.

The Permanent Secretary made the remarks at the New Year Staff Meeting which was held on 24th January 2026 in the Office of the Prime Minister’s Conference Hall in Kampala. Mr. Kakooza cited a few of the organisation’s key achievements for the year 2025, including securing health insurance benefits for the staff and timely payment of the staff salaries and allowances among others.
He called upon the staff to efficiently implement tasks, adhere to time management standards and participate in the budgeting process.
Mr. Kakooza urged the contract employees to opt for permanent employment by applying for vacancies advertised by the Ministry of Public Service so that that they can enjoy a wide range of benefits.
The Permanent Secretary also officiated at the awarding ceremony of the best employees for the year 2025 who were nominated by the Staff in December 2025. The nominees were in five categories namely: (I) Best Support Staff (ii) Best Driver (iii) Best Secretary (iv) Best Officer (v) Best Senior Manager and (vi) Overall Employee of the Year.
The Overall Employee of the Year award was scooped by the Under Secretary for Finance and Administration, Madam Patricia Lakidi, who was recognised for showcasing exemplary performance at work.
The Permanent Secretary congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to keep the positive momentum going.
