KAMPALA
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has advised religious leaders to encourage their followers to strictly observe the biblical teaching on creation.
In a message delivered by the Prime Minister of Uganda Robinah Nabbanja at the sideline meeting of the Inter-Religious Council during the ongoing conference of Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, Museveni implored the religious leaders to fight poverty by encouraging their flock to strictly engage in high value commercial agriculture.

The 11th Session of the African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development currently ongoing at Speke Resort Munyonyo has attracted among others religious leaders under their umbrella organization the Inter Religious Council of Uganda.
The Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja delivered the statement on behalf of the President.
Museveni advised religious leaders to encourage their flock to strictly observe the biblical teaching on creation and also fight poverty by encouraging them to engage in high value commercial agriculture.
The Prime Minister also delivered a statement to the former Presidents and Prime Ministers who gathered for the 8th leadership forum running alongside with the African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development to discuss the impact of climate change on the African continent.
Former Prime Ministers of Uganda John Patrick Amama Mbabazi and Dr Ruhakana Rugunda also advised their counterparts on how the impact of climate change can be tackled using Africa’s solution rather than depending foreigners.
Former President of Tanzania Jakaya Kikwete asked fellow leaders to insist on preserving nature because the major polluters of the environment are not ready to listen.
