The Minister of State for Luwero, Hon. Alice Kaboyo, has launched the distribution of iron sheets for the Busoga sub-region at Jinja District Headquarters.
The iron sheets are meant to assist vulnerable communities and other institutions, including schools, that need support from the Office of the Prime Minister.
The function took place on Friday October 11th, 2024, and was attended by several MPs and other local leaders from the Busoga sub-region. The Luwero Triangle Ministry is also responsible for Busoga as well as Rwenzori sub-regions as affirmative action dockets.
“The Office of the Prime Minister, through the Ministry of Luwero Triangle-Busoga Affairs, is committed to working with all relevant stakeholders, especially local leaders, to ensure effective and efficient service delivery. During the Financial Year 2023/2024, the Ministry procured a total of 15,333 iron sheets for Busoga Sub-Region”, Minister Kaboyo said.
She added, “I am committed to continuing to support Busoga through micro projects. It is possible to life our people out of poverty if we embrace government programs and take advantage of interventions aimed at increasing household incomes in this sub-region”.
The Minister called on the local leaders to work together with area Members of Parliament and their technical leaders in coordinating, identifying and distributing of all deliverables to their area in order for their people to benefit from the various Government interventions.
She told the Busoga leaders that in the coming Financial Year 2024/2025, her Ministry plans to procure a total of 15,000 iron sheets for onward distribution to vulnerable veterans and institutions.
