Kaboyo and her guests discussed at length with emphasis on agricultural value addition to products especially for farmers from the greater Luwero sub region. “The president has emphasized that there is a need to add value to our agricultural products before being exported to other countries as one way of increasing the household incomes of Ugandans,” noted Kaboyo.
They discussed machinery for abattoir, pineapple, coffee and Cocoa processing which would add value to meat sold and crops grown in the Luwero region before exportation.
Turkey expressed willingness to cooperate with the right farmers under the guidance of Hon. Alice Kaboyo and the Ministry. “This is a good idea and we are willing to work with the farmers to add value to their products and even export finished products,” said Zeki.
