MBALE CITY
The State Minister for Karamoja Affairs Hon. Namboozo Florence Wamala has thanked Chinese investors in Mbale Industrial park for listening and creating employment opportunities for the youth in Elgon sub-region.

Hon. Namboozo who is also the District Woman Member of Parliament for Sironko District made the remarks during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Mbale Industrial Park BUBU trade show and Bazaar earlier today.  Specifically expressing gratitude to Mr. Paul Zang, the Chairman Mbale-Uganda Industrial park, Namboozo said,  “I want to thank the chairman, Mr. Zang, and the other investors, for loving us, for loving our children, for being patient with us, for training us, for being there for us, for having a listening ear.  You can see that the children that work here, permit me to use the word children with due respect, but the children that work here call Mr. Paul Zang their father, and that is greatness.

Mr. Paul Zang, we are so grateful to you for hosting our children from morning to evening.”
She said also thanked Zang for bringing quality and affordable goods close to the local people.  “Now that we can just walk here and buy goods and go to our homes, like one speaker said that you brought China next to our homes, it’s going to soon become a household name ,” she added.

The 2024 Mbale Industrial Park BUBU trade show and Bazaar organized by the Ministry of Finance and Sino-Uganda Industrial Park was officially closed today by  the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah on behalf of President Museveni.

The Premier who was taken through a guided tour of the Industrial Park appreciated the role the Sino-Uganda group has played in creating employment for the youths and promoting the Buy Uganda ,Build Uganda policy.
His Excellency President Museveni in a statement read by the PM said, “We are working closely with Industrial Parks like this one to ensure investors benefit from the full source of incentives and that Uganda becomes a hub for regional and global trade. We call upon all investors to coordinate with the Uganda Investment Authority and take advantage of the investment friendly policies and opportunities that Uganda offers. This trade fair is not only a showcase of innovation but also a platform for business networking, knowledge sharing and market access.”
Rt. Hon. Nabbanja was accompanied by the State Minister for Investment, Hon. Evelyn Anite, the State Minister for Karamoja, Hon. Namboozo Florence, Hon. Sidronius Okaasai Opolot the Minister of State for Energy, area MPs and local leaders.
The trade show has seen over 40 factories based in the park showcase products in food processing, building, textiles, construction, car parts, electronics at discounted prices to connect with potential customers.
