KAKUMIRO

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has been nominated to run for the 2026-2031 parliamentary elections.

Nabbanja was the first to be duly nominated at 9:15 hours by the Kakumiro District Returning Officer of the Independent Electoral Commission, Honest Baguma in Kakumiro Town Council.

Nabbanja arrived at the Electoral Commission offices at 8:50AM aboard a private motor vehicle Registration number UBM 921A.

Nabbanja was accompanied by Venercious Turyomunsi, as the proposer and Naggawa Philly Mbazira as the seconder among other supporters.

The Returning Officer for Kakumiro District, Honest Baguma, after examining the nomination papers declared Nabbanja as a duly nominated candidate for the Kakumiro District Woman MP seat as the NRM flag bearer.

Nabbanja after being nominated lauded the people of Kakumiro for the unwavering support since 2011 when she was elected women MP for greater Kibaale District to date.

Nabbanja saluted President Yoweri Museveni for the trust and mentorship.  She promised to champion the implementation of the NRM manifesto that seeks to protect the gains and make qualitative Leap into the high middle income status for all Ugandans.

Fred Byamukama, the State Minister for Transport and Bugangaizi West Member of Parliament, was also nominated.

Byamukama pledged to focus on promoting improving household income for his electorate which is a key component of the NRM manifesto.

Meanwhile Prof. George William Lubega, the NRM flag Bearer for Bugangaizi South constituency was also nominated and promised to go by the NRM manifesto.
