The Premier commended the Netherlands for the enduring and beneficial relations between the two countries.

“We have more than 1.7 million refugees as I speak now. And to me, this has been possible because of partners like you,” she observed.

Nabbanja also thanked the Dutch for the collaboration with Uganda in areas of health, agricultural development, sustainable private sector development, and the food and nutrition saying that “this demonstrated that the Dutch government is committed to supporting our government in the development agenda and improving the livelihoods of our citizens.”

“I want partnership with the Netherlands in this regard (Parish Development Model) so that we move together in unison. Because what you are doing is the same way we are trying to see that our Ugandans come out of poverty,” Nabbanja emphasized calling on the Kingdom to join and support the National Partnership Forum slated for 5th February 2025.

“As you mentioned as well, there’s such a clear link between what your President and your government is doing with the wealth creation, the Parish Development Model, etc. and what we call the participatory approach that we do with our smallholder farmers that we support. We have started, we’ve just signed several programs for 80 million euros,” revealed H.E Quispel.

H.E Quispel said the 80 million euros is for a four-year period in regards to food security for smallholder farmers. “So, we work with families and communities and really help them.  So here, I really see such a strong link between what your President is promoting and what we are doing. Of course, everything we do is always linked to your policies,” she concluded.
