UNHCR High Commissioner in Uganda for a Visit

KAMWENGE

Mr. Filippo Gandi, the UNHCR High Commissioner for Refugees has arrived in Uganda starting with a visit to Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement.

The Commissioner was accompanied by Hon. Hilary Onek, Minister of Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees.

Upon arrival, the delegation was received by the Kamwenge District leadership, the Refugee Desk Office, UNHCR and partners. The Commissioner will visit Mahani Reception Centre to interact with new arrivals, visit livelihood projects before seeing some refugee family homes.

In attendance is the Commissioner for Refugees, Patrick Okello, the Director Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework, Helen Bugaari and the UNHCR Uganda representative Matthew Crenstil.
