Uganda’s Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has commended President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for honoring and fulfilling the promises he has made to the people of Bunyoro.

Nabbanja, who was delegated to represent the President as the Chief Guest at the coronation of Rev. Jacob Ateirweho, delivered a brand new Land Cruiser and Shs 30Million from the President to the new Bishop.

Rev. Ateirweho was enthroned by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, at a colorful ceremony that took place St. Peter’s Cathedral Hoima to replace Bishop Samuel Kahuma who retired after clocking the mandatory retirement age.

The President thanked the outgoing Bishop Rt. Rev. Samuel Kahuma Abwooli for being a hardworking and committed leader who has made Bunyoro-Kitara Diocese what it is today. He went ahead and congratulated the new Bishop upon his spiritual achievement of dedication, commitment to serve God and the people of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese.

Premier Nabbanja donated UGX 5M to Bishop Ateirweho and UGX 5M to Bishop Kahuma.

“I am on standby to work together. I thank the President for fulfilling every pledge he has made to Bunyoro,” She said.

Earlier on the Prime Minister had delivered President Museveni’s Shs. 300m pledge towards the construction of St. Mary’s Children and Women specialized Hospital Hoima being undertaken by Hoima Catholic Diocese.

In the month of June 2022, President Yoweri Museveni, represented by the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, pledged 300m towards the construction of the hospital during a fundraising function held at Rwenkobe village, Hoima City.
