KAMPALA
Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has urged potential investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to invest in Uganda.

Nabbanja told UAE delegates at the 2nd annual Uganda-UAE Business Forum at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala on Tuesday that the East African country was recognised as the best investment destination in East Africa at the Annual Investment Meeting in Abu Dhabi in May this year.
The Prime Minister said Uganda is also one of the top tourism destinations around the world and one of the fastest-growing countries in East Africa, with investment-friendly policies and laws
She added that the peace and stability the country enjoys also make it an ideal investment destination.

“Uganda has the youngest population in the region with an average age of 17.5 years. This population is a highly trainable labour force,” Nabbanja added.
The head of the UAE delegation Rasheed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, who is also the undersecretary at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, said they see Uganda as “a gateway of doing business” in East Africa.
He added that investors need a secure environment and that Uganda and UAE ought to translate the agreements and memoranda of understanding they previously signed into business.
“The two countries have signed several agreements and MoUs and it is now time to implement them,” Al Blooshi said.
