KAMPALA
The Minister of State for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Hon. Lillian Aber, on Wednesday, met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representative in Uganda, Mr. Jason Hepps.
The meeting, held at the OPM headquarters in Kampala, focused on key issues related to Uganda’s refugee response. The discussions centred on strengthening support and protection for refugees and asylum seekers, as well as improving service delivery in refugee settlements and host communities.
Hon. Aber commended UNHCR for its continued partnership and commitment to supporting Uganda’s refugee response. “Together, we remain focused on promoting resilience, self-reliance, and sustainable solutions for both refugees and host communities,” she said.
Ms Hellen Bugaari, the Director of the Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework Secretariat in OPM, attended the meeting.
