The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has today delivered additional Food and non-food relief items to hundreds of people displaced by River Nyamwamba in Kasese District.

In company of the Prime Minister was Hon. Eng. Hillary Onek Minister for Relief Disaster Preparedness & Refugees, Minister of State for Luwero Rwenzori Affairs, Hon. Alice Kaboyo, State Minister for Water and Environment, Hon. Beatrice Anywar, State minister for National Guidance Hon. Geoffrey Kabyanka Kaluku, districts leaders and area Members of Parliament. The Prime Minister delivered 4 ton of maize flour, 2 tons of beans, 100 boxes of soap, 2 tons of sugar, 1,000 jerrycans, 2,000 tarpaulins, mosquito nets among other items.

The Prime Minister has reaffirmed government’s commitment to permanently relocate the affected people to a safer place. She instructed the district leaders to identify land for government to purchase at an affordable price.

The Premier also directed Kasese District leadership to identify land for construction of a hospital because Kirembe Mines Hospital has consistently been destroyed by torrential floods. END
