The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has thanked President Yoweri Museveni for reappointing her as Premier in last week’s cabinet reshuffle.

“My appointment by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is a symbol of trust and confidence and I promise to deliver to all Ugandans,” Nabbanja said during the Palm Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Bujumbura Cathedral in Hoima City yesterday.

Hon. Mary Grace Mugasa, who was also reappointed as the Minister of State for Public Service attended the Mass, which was celebrated by the Bishop of Hoima Catholic Diocese Rt. Rev. Bishop Vincent Kirabo Amooti.

Nabbanja appealed to Ugandans to embrace the government programmes especially the Parish Development Model (PDM) which is designed to move the remaining 39% of Ugandan households from the subsistence economy to the money economy.

“The Parish Development Model is aimed at leaving no one behind in development,” Nabbanja added. “

Leaving No One Behind in development is also a commitment made by the United Nations member states. It is part of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

Bishop Kirabo thanked President Yoweri Museveni for his government’s continuous support and collaboration with the Church.

“I request that you (PM) deliver our appreciation to the President for the support he offers to the church in its development interventions,” he added.

The Bishop praised all women for their significant role in the development of the country. The Prime Minister donated 50m shillings towards the ongoing construction of the Hoima Women and Children Specialised Hospital by the Catholic Church.
