The Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah has handed over the first consignment of vehicles to boost the security of Judges in the country.

The handover ceremony took place at the High Court of Uganda here in Kampala.

Procurement of these security vehicles follow the need to secure the entire Judicial establishment and particularly the Judges as directed by president Yoweri Museveni.

“The President directed that we provide vehicles to the judges to ensure that they are secure,” said Nabbanja.

The first consignment had four security vehicles which were handed over to the Judiciary Permanent Secretary Pius Bigirimana.

Bigirimana, on behalf of the Judiciary thanked Government for the timely intervention and pledged to use the vehicles properly for the intended purpose.

“We shall ensure that these vehicles are well maintained and put to right use as required,” said Bigirimana.

The remaining six security vehicles will be handed over on Friday.

Present at the handover ceremony was the Acting Director Logistics and Engineering of the Uganda Police Force Richard Edyegu.
