Every October, Uganda commemorates the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Awareness Month.

The Government of Uganda and the United Nations in Uganda launched the commemoration to increase people’s knowledge and understanding of the 17 SDGs and everyone’s role in implementing them.

The SDGs were adopted by 193 UN Member States in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The goals comprise a total of 169 targets which seek to tackle a wide range of global development issues.
