The Prime Minister Rt. Hon Robinah Nabbanja has met with the local government leaders of Kayunga District to discuss matters related to service delivery in the area.

The meeting took place at the office of the Prime Minister in Kampala on Friday. The meeting was a follow up on her previous visit to Kayunga District where she assessed the impact of floods in the area caused by the rising water levels in lake Kyoga and River Ssezibwa.

During the meeting, the Premier called upon the leaders of Kayunga District to embrace and utilise the opportunities availed by the NRM Government to enhance development in the area.

She said they need to focus on supporting leadership that has the capacity and will to serve the people.

The Prime Minister, however, cautioned against disunity among the leaders and urged them to focus on service delivery.

She pledged to provide food relief to the flood victims in Kayunga and said the government is making plans to tarmac the road in the District.

The District leaders thanked the Prime Minister for taking the initiative to resolve conflicts among the area leaders and pledged to work with the government to foster unity in the area and enhance service delivery. End.
