The Prime Minister Rt. Hon Robinah Nabbanja has said the government is committed to developing and improving infrastructure in the country with an aim to enhance service delivery.

The Premier made the remarks during a confirmation service at St. Joseph Nkooko Sub- County church in Kakumiro District.

She urged the residents of Nkooko Sub- County to embrace government programmes in order to boost development.

“Follow up on government programmes like the Parish Development Model and embrace vaccination against COVID-19. I urge you to focus on development” the Premier said.

The Prime Minister also called upon the parents to instill discipline and religious morals in children so that they become responsible citizens who will contribute to national development.

“Please keep the children in school. Currently, the country is facing high levels of teenage pregnancy due to parental negligence,” Nabbanja said.

The Premier requested the Bishop of Hoima Diocese, Rt. Rev Vincent Kirabo to grant Nkooko Sub- County the status of a church parish, noting that it will spur spiritual growth among the residents.

The Kakumiro Member of Parliament, Hon. Agaba Aisha Black, commended the Prime Minister’s commitment to service delivery. She described her as a leader who is responsive and hands-on.

The Bishop of Hoima Diocese, Rt. Rev. Vincent Kirabo called for righteous living among the congregants. He also thanked the Prime Minister for supporting the church to construct accommodation facilities for the clergy and noted that the request to grant a church parish in the area will be put under consideration.

Over 50 children received the sacrament of confirmation that initiates and establishes them as full-fledged members of the faith.  The confirmants also received their first holy communion. END.
