WAKISO
The State Minister for Luwero Triangle, Alice Kaboyo, on Sunday officiated at the launch of Mpologoma Clan Youth Trustee at Lwadda Hill, Matugga, in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District. Mpologoma is one of the 54 clans within the Buganda Kingdom.
The clan has an initiative that seeks to foster a culture of Saving, Investment, and Personal Growth, offering over 400 young people opportunities to improve their livelihoods and secure a brighter future. The Minister expressed gratitude to the Katikiro of the Mpologoma Clan for cultivating discipline and instilling strong values among the youth. She remarked; “patriotism starts within the clan. Clans serve not only as cultural foundations but also as key drivers of national development. Empowered and disciplined youth are essential for fostering a prosperous and unified Uganda.”
The Minister encouraged the youth to take full advantage of government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, the Youth Livelihood Program (YLP), and Grow women project. She said that these initiatives are designed to empower individuals and communities through economic development and sustainable growth.
The Minister called for more collaboration and harmony between the Buganda Kingdom and the government, so that meaningful progress and transformation for communities under the Luwero Triangle are achieved to benefit the people.
