The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, last week launched the 2023-2024 UN Human Development Report at Makerere University.

The report shows that Uganda has moved from the Low Human Development category in the 2021-2022 Report to the Medium Human Development category in the 2023-2024 Report.

The Prime Minister asked all stakeholders, including government MDAs, Development Partners, Civil Society, Academia, and the Private Sector, to work together to address the challenges outlined in the Report and facilitate further progress.

“It is essential that we increase our efforts and adopt creative approaches to address the challenges that we face today, as there are only six years left to the SDG agenda 2030 deadline,” she added.

The Premier, however, encouraged the stakeholders to draw inspiration from the progress Uganda has already achieved and remain firm in the commitment to human development.

The event was attended by among others, the UN Resident Coordinator, Ms Susan Namondo, Representatives of the UN agencies in Uganda, Ambassadors, and the Vice Chancellor of Makerere University Prof Barnabas Nawangwe.
