The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has been recognized among the best three Government Exhibitors in this year’s Uganda Annual Tax Payers Appreciation Exhibition (TPAE) at Kololo.
Over 75 Government entities participated in the event including Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Boards and Corporations. The private sector was represented with over 250 participants.
While announcing the winners, the lead judge, Mr. Protazio Begumisa, also Commissioner for Internal Audit at URA, said that The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was the overall winner, followed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as first run-up and OPM, as second run up.
Mr. Begumisa said that these three best Government entities demonstrated excellent ability in public engagement sufficiently delivering the theme of appreciating the tax payers.
The OPM award was handed over to Ms. Joyce Babirye, the OPM Principle Public Relations Officer, by the State Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Rosemary Sseninde.
According to one of the Judges, Ms. Munira Ali, also Head of Communications at the IGG’s Office, the criteria for the awards was based on how the exhibitors were able to articulate the mandate, activities, programs, and achievement of their organization for the benefit of every Ugandan; Customer care, as well as the creativity in the display of their materials for visibility.
Ms. Munira says that The OPM ranked highly in stakeholder engagement, creative display of their visibility material as well ably articulating their mandate and programs.
The Head of the OPM Communications Unit, Mr. Julius Mucunguzi thanked the OPM Communications team who spearheaded the drive on the side of OPM, adding that the award is an encouragement to the team for further work hard to enhance the profile and public image of the OPM.
The event which was held between 26th–28th September 2018, ended with a corporate dinner for all exhibitors, during which the winners were announced and awarded.
