The Prime Minister of Uganda, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has officially commissioned the refurbishing of Kamukira Health Centre4 in Kabale Municipality.
The health centre got a complete face lift after MTN Foundation Uganda committed Shs300m for the cause which also included donating items like beds, mattresses, bedsheets, blankets and mosquito nets. This event took place on Friday 1st March 2019 at Kakumira Health Centre IV in Kabale District.
The donation formed part of the “MTN at 20” celebrations that are taking place in Kabale through the MTN Expo currently on-going at the Kabale Stadium. Since October 2018, MTN Uganda has been celebrating 20 years of operating in Uganda. The regional expos are part of the celebration until 25th May 2019 and Kabale was the first stopover.

During the commissioning, Rugunda urged the people and leaders of Kabale to continue embracing development and owning the projects that government and other partners are implementing in their region. He also urged the people of the region to give adequate attention to their health by taking regular medical checkups to ensure that they live healthy lives.
Premier Rugunda was flanked by the Chairman MTN Uganda, Mr. Charles Mbiire, along with other local and national leaders hailing from Kigezi region.
